Accessibility

Our goal

We want everyone to be able to build decks, track a collection, and find cards at a local store with SpellRack. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA for the website and the mobile app.

Where we are today

We have not completed a formal accessibility audit, and some parts of SpellRack do not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA yet. We build with keyboard navigation, visible focus, labelled form fields and a skip-to-content target in mind, and we fix reported barriers as a priority.

Known limitations

• Card scanner: identifying a card with the camera needs you to frame the card on screen. Alternative: search for a card by name, or paste or import a card list into a deck or your collection.
• Life tracker: it is built for quick taps and press-and-hold on a shared phone or tablet, and screen readers may not announce every life change. Each player's panel does carry a text label with the current life total.
• Card images: card names and text are shown as text, but artwork does not have a full description.
• Third-party pages: checkout (Stripe) and Discord sign-in are run by those providers and follow their own accessibility standards.

If something on SpellRack is hard or impossible to use, email [email protected] with the page address and what happened. We reply within 5 business days and, where we can, help you get the task done another way while we fix it.
